If you are a registered parishioner of Assumption Parish (or another parish) and attend mass regularly, there is no waiting period. You may call the Parish Office to schedule a date and you must attend a Baptism preparation session prior to the baptism ceremony of your child.

If you belong to another parish, a letter of permission from your Pastor is required.

If you are not a parishioner of any parish, you must register, attend Holy Mass regularly at this parish, and there is a three-month waiting period before your child can be baptized. Please advise the Parish Office if this is your particular situation.

“Baptism is birth into the new life in Christ. In accordance with the Lord’s will, it is necessary for salvation, as is the Church herself, which we enter by Baptism.”  – Catechism #1277

Teenagers (13 years old +) and adults who wish to be baptized must attend the RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults) program. For further details on RCIA, please click here >>> RCIA Page

“Born with a fallen human nature and tainted by original sin, children also have need of the new birth in Baptism to be freed from the power of darkness and brought into the realm of the freedom of the children of God, to which all men are called…. Christian parents will recognize that this practice also accords with their role as nurturers of the life that God has entrusted to them.”   – Catechism #1250-1251
